Shri. Jag Mohan is a seasoned social security and provident fund professional with over three decades of distinguished experience in the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). He superannuated as Additional Central Provident Fund Commissioner (Headquarters) on 31st March 2023.

Born in Delhi on 16th March 1963, he is a B. Com (Hons.) graduate from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University, and pursued Chartered Accountancy thereafter. He began his career in audit, handling large institutional audits including UTI, SBI and BALCO, before joining EPFO in October 1990 as an Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner.

During his tenure, he served stakeholders across multiple regions including Varanasi, Jalpaiguri, Nagpur, Faridabad, Mumbai, Kanpur and New Delhi, and held key leadership roles at EPFO Headquarters.

Shri. Jag Mohan played a pivotal role in driving transformational reforms and technology-led initiatives within EPFO. His contributions include major projects such as the National Data Centre (Dwarka), EPFiGMS grievance portal, UAN and Aadhaar integration, Automated ECR systems, G-NOC monitoring framework, multi-banking systems, and auto-claim & multi-location processing during COVID.

He has also led policy-level initiatives and major operational divisions including Legal, Compliance, Recovery, Exemption, Government Subsidy Schemes, and Publicity. His work has significantly strengthened EPFO’s legal and compliance framework and improved service delivery outcomes on a national scale.

Mr. Jay Shah is a seasoned labour-law compliance professional with 15+ years of expertise in end-to-end statutory compliance and complex inspection matters. (formerly Exertion HR Solutions), he has built a trusted, pan-India compliance and payroll advisory practice focused on making labour law simple, transparent, and risk-free for businesses. 

His core specialization lies in EPF and ESIC compliance, including successful representation in high-stake matters such as EPF Section 7A inquiries and ESIC Adhoc C-18/inspection cases. He is known for moving beyond routine filings—diagnosing root-cause compliance gaps, preparing businesses for audits, and ensuring defensible documentation that prevents penalties before they arise.

Demonstrating his commitment to fair and workable compliance systems, Mr. Shah filed Writ Petition No. 5836 of 2021 in the Bombay High Court, challenging the EPFO circular dated June 1, 2021 that mandated Aadhaar-verified UANs for ECR filing under Section 142 of the Social Security Code—an operational change that created significant hurdles for employers.
